Days 14 and 15

We're half way! The kids don't even notice that we don't have toys anymore. They have done so well at playing together with whatever they find around the house. Their imaginations are huge. And I've also noticed a little bit of an attitude change. Alyssa and I have had several talks lately about how some people don't have all that we do. She was very concerned when I told her about how some people don't have any money for food or a home to live in, much less toys and other "wants". We went over a list of items, and I asked her to tell me whether they were a want or a need. She wanted me to order a huge pizza for everyone who didn't have food that day. :)

Yesterday I had to get groceries, and it turned into an all day event just trying to get out of the house. The boys are potty training, and I'm constantly wiping someone or cleaning pee out of the floor, so it's hard to get much else done. But at least they are doing it! When I finally got home from the store, we had a quick supper and headed to town to wait for the fireworks. It was raining, so we waited in the car. The kids were bored because it took about 2 and a half hours. It quit raining, and we let them run around outside a bit. By the time the fireworks started they didn't even care anymore. They kept saying they were tired and telling me to hurry up. haha Landon enjoyed them this time though.

Today we had to take Sam to the airport in Huntsville. We stopped once to potty and a second time to eat. After we dropped her off, it was a long drive back, and we had a few errands to run so it was even more time in the car. We came home, and Alan had to leave for work. I chased the kids all over the house, so they could run and scream and get some energy out. They helped me clean up and had supper, then it was bath and bed time.

(The boys have been carrying these toothbrush holders around for a few days now. They say they are their swords and stick them in their pocket or the side of their underwear like a holster. lol)
